French Empire Console
An unusually small and attractive French Empire Console dating from 1820. This is a great example of the French Empire Style and with its thick cut flame mahogany veneers and oak lined draws possibly dates back to the reign of Napoleon Bonaparte.
Whilst it features the very typical columns of the French Empire style the crescent shaped base is unusual and desirable. The top is made of black fossil marble and all three draws are lockable.
This would look fantastic in a small hallway or would work equally well as lamp table next to a sofa.
It is close to 200 years old and has a number of minor historic restorations but stills looks very presentable.
It measures 48 cm wide by 32 cm deep by 76 cm high.
