Georgian Brass Bound Trunk
A charming Georgian Brass Bound Trunk of small proportions.
This trunk dates to the early C19th and has some very heavy brass hardware.
It is constructed of pine and covered with black leather. When I first saw it, I was reminded of Trafalgar era naval trunks however I now think it is both too small and too fancy for a naval trunk. I now think it was probably a specialist tool chest.
The plaque on the top bears the name W. Nixon L.S.
Condition wise it has seen lots of use, the leather is heavily distressed but this adds to the great character of the trunk and it would make a great side table.
It measures cm wide by cm high by cm deep.
