Mid Century Chandelier
Ten branch Mid Century Chandelier from France circa 1950.
This is a great example of French Mid Century design with the multicoloured pierced metal shades in the manner of Mathew Mategot(1910-2010).
This style was popular in the Fifties and and rose to Prominence with the Brussels Expo 58 which rather like the Festival of Britain 1951 was very influential.
It comprises of two yellow, red ,black ,green and blue shades.Each shade takes a 10 watt to 25 watt bulb. We have 15 watt bulbs in at present, giving it a total of 150w.
It measures 64 cm wide by 78 cm high(to the fitting).
It is in very good original condition apart from being rewired with 3 core earthed cable to suit the UK use.
